Cool the Canopy Tree Giveaway

Oberlin residents still have time to be assessed for a free tree in their yard!

Thanks for a generous grant from The Green EDGE Fund, POWER will now be able to plant 15 residential trees in 2026, entirely free of cost! Research shows that planting a single 25-foot tall tree can reduce the annual heating and cooling costs for a typical home by 8-12%. This new shade will help cool down the wider community, keep our streets beautiful, and improve your home’s efficiency!

If you’re interested in being assessed for a free tree in your yard this year, schedule a no-cost energy audit with POWER. If the layout of your house and yard are fit for tree-based efficiency upgrades, you will receive a free medium-sized tree, water bag, and training on how to care for your new tree. Trees will be delivered in October to the first 15 qualifying residents, so schedule your energy audit today!

This initiative is proudly dedicated to the memory and legacy of POWER Board Member Jeanne McKibben.
