Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program (CHIP)

 

POWER collaborates with the city of Oberlin's Planning & Development Department in assisting with the Lorain County Community Development Department in the implementation the Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program (CHIP) grant for the City of Oberlin which provides income-eligible persons with home repairs and rehabilitation. Staff also offer a limited home repair service using local Revolving Loan Fund resources.

Funding for home repairs is CURRENTLY available to income-eligible Oberlin homeowners. Find the application form on the City of Oberlin Housing website.

Eligible repairs include:

​

          Rehabilitation: Installation and/or repairs to foundations, roofs, gutters, electrical upgrades, plumbing, furnaces, hot                 water heaters, insulation, windows, doors, accessibility improvements, and lead based paint reduction

         

          Home Repair: Roofs, handicapped accessibility, water taps, septic repairs or replacements, foundation repairs,                             electrical repairs, plumbing repairs, window replacement, new roofs, new furnaces, insulation, siding repair, and lead                 based paint reduction
